Final Grade

So I got an A on this crafting blog…you know just a 100%!! <3 I’d say it was a success!

So for my last crafting project for my visual communications class I chose to decorate a bucket to put some trinkets in. I bought the pink bucket from Jo Ann’s for under $2 and used two of the favorite things in the world- glitter and modge podge. I covered the bottom half of the bucket with the modge podge-because it dries clear- and then added glitter. I always use a paper plate when I’m crafting with glitter so that way I can reuse the glitter. After I made sure I shook off the excess glitter, I let it dry. Then for finishing touches, I used dark pink sparkly letters and wrote my name on the bucket.

So being a big sister in a sorority has one objective…spoil your little. So because I love to craft and love my little sister, I have crafted for her for more hours than I could even imagine. I have put together some of the crafts I have made for her. If you want help with any ideas please feel free to contact me!! Some of the crafts I have included pictures of are; a clipboard that I decorated so she can take notes in chapter, a door hanger, a plaque, and a glass star jar to put little knick knacks in.

I also spent some time working on another craft this weekend. I decided to get a square wooden shape from the craft store and make a kite out of it for Kappa Alpha Theta. I painted the square white and glued ribbon with bows on them to the back of the square. This made a kite shape and I finished this craft with adding my letters on the wooden shape.

So it seems like Christmas is coming early this year. Everywhere I look there are either Christmas trees up or a holiday song comes on the radio. So because I’m surrounded by the holiday spirit, I decided to do some holiday crafts. My first holiday crafts for the season were of course, bows. I made two different ones. I used a holiday sticker in the middle of the first bow and a holiday button/pin for the second bow!

Going along with my apparent bow themed craft obsession, I decided to craft a bow holder that is cute and can be created in under 5 minutes. First I got a wooden turtle shaped figure at the craft store. They have so many designs, from stars and tiara’s to fish. Pick out your favorite shape and cut a long strip of ribbon. Next you’re going to place a tiny dot of hot glue on the back of the wooden shape and attach your ribbon to it. Let it dry. Now you’ll have a great, creative way to keep all your bows together!!

More Disney bows!! Pictures are in order of the steps, I made one for my twin sister and one for myself. They were just too cute to pass up on.
